Looking for some holiday magic in Aiken this coming weekend? Look no further than Rose Hill! One of the only Winter Colony estates still actively open to the public, Rose Hill is opening their doors to a beautiful holiday weekend at their estate and bringing a new tradition to Aiken with their Holiday Market. Make plans to shop, to support local non-profit Children’s Place, to listen to great live music, to enjoy delicious food and drink, and more while you experience the beauty of Rose Hill.
On Friday, their pathways will be lit with candles and you’ll be able to navigate through the historic gardens as you head to the Rose Hill main house for their first Holiday Market Preview Party from 6pm-9pm. There will be antique and artisan vendors set up inside for you to meet and shop with, and everyone’s favorite, Brooke Lundy, will be performing her famous traditional music classics. If you’ve been to one of Brooke’s performances before, you know that you’re in for a treat Friday night! The party includes a Silent Night Silent Auction to benefit Children’s Place, a cash bar, and food. Tickets for the Holiday Market Preview Party are $20 each and can be purchased here.
The Holiday Market expands outside into the gardens on Saturday as they open their doors from 10am until 6pm for you to enjoy everything that the market has to offer. You can be a part of the “studio” audience for a Hometown Christmas Collaborations show happening throughout the day in the Arts Center. There will be local musicians throughout the day live streaming classic and contemporary holiday music, “telethon” style, with all tips and donations benefitting Children’s Place. Bring your family to shop with you! Santa will be out and about roaming through the gardens and popping up at a number of photo backdrops that will be set up around the gardens. All Saturday events are free (but donations for Children’s Place are always welcome!)
After spending the day shopping, plan an evening at The Stables Restaurant with a delicious drink and delightful dinner with your family.
On Sunday, head back to The Stables for Sunday Brunch after church and then continue your shopping weekend with the Main House vendors. Brunch and shopping will be from 11am until 2pm, and the Holiday Market will officially close at 2pm on Sunday.
The entire weekend is sponsored by Material Things and Indie Arts Vintage Market.
